FarmNet connects buyers and sellers directly — we don't hold funds or inspect goods on your behalf. These guidelines help you transact with confidence.
Favour verified sellers and businesses
Look for the verified badge on a seller or business profile. It doesn't guarantee a transaction, but it means FarmNet has checked the details behind the profile.
Inspect high-value items in person
For tractors, vehicles, livestock and property, arrange to view and inspect the item before you commit to anything. Bring someone with relevant experience if you can.
Never pay upfront to a stranger
Be wary of any seller who asks for a deposit, courier fee, or full payment before you've seen the item — especially via instant EFT to an account that doesn't match the seller's name.
Meet and pay safely
Where possible, meet at the farm, dealership or a safe public location. For large purchases, use traceable payment methods and keep records of the transaction.
Trust your instincts
A price that's far below market value, pressure to act immediately, or a seller who avoids phone calls are all reasons to slow down and verify before proceeding.
Report anything suspicious
Every listing has a Report option. If something looks like a scam, is listed in the wrong category, or breaches our guidelines, report it so our team can review it.
